Due to the possibility of rain on Friday, May 17, the graduation commencement location has been moved from the football stadium to the high school gym. The start time is 7:30 p.m.

Congratulations to our Super Seniors. Super Seniors are students who scored 30 or higher on the act test. The Super Seniors were recognized at the May 14th Board of Education meeting and are pictured with Superintendent Randy Thomley, who presented them a plaque for their accomplishment. Corbin Bryant scored a 33, Jace Hollingsworth scored a 32, and Kaleb Oliver scored a 30.

A big shout out to High School Principal, Dr. Aldridge, for being a good sport and helping FBLA with a fundraiser.

Due to possible inclement weather the softball game for tomorrow's regional tournament against Colbert Heights has been moved to 11:00 a.m.

The annual art show for Winfield Middle School and Winfield High School will be Thursday, May 9, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Winfield Middle School. Framed art from WMS and WCHS art students as well as 5th grade students will be available for purchase. Each ready-to-hang piece is only $25 payable by cash or check. Reproductions are also available. In addition, student artwork is displayed throughout the hallways for all to enjoy! Come out to this one-night-only art exhibit and sale to support our fabulous art students and score yourself some amazing  original art!

Good afternoon. This is a message from Winfield City Schools. Due to the threat of inclement weather, buses will run and school will be delayed two hours tomorrow, Thursday, May 9, 2024. If there is a need for further delay or school closure, another call will be made.

Today is Lunch Hero Day, let’s shine a spotlight on our amazing school lunch professionals who work to make our school meals special. Since the beginning of the school year our school lunchroom professionals have served 50,692 student breakfasts, 141,418 student lunches, 4,953 student afterschool snacks, and 32,208.50 a la carte meals. Stop by any cafeteria to watch school nutritional professionals prepare healthy meals for students while adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile—and you’ll see they are true heroes! This is why we celebrate School Lunch Hero Day every year on the first Friday in May. This annual observance is a chance to showcase what a difference school nutrition professionals make in the lives of every child who comes through the cafeteria. School Lunch Hero Day was established in 2013 as a collaborative effort between the School Nutrition Association and Jarrett J. Krosoczka, author of the Lunch Ladies series of graphic novels about a cafeteria professional who is also a crime-fighting spy. Krosoczka – A New York Times bestselling author and a National Book Award Finalist—started writing the series in 2009, and he loves the way the books have helped further the School Nutrition Association’s mission. “Through my partnership with the School Nutrition Association, I have received an excellent education on how much goes into getting food on every student’s tray.” He says. A lot goes into getting nutritious food on every single student’s tray. Please thank your school nutritional professionals on Friday, May 3rd. An awesome job tonight by the Pirate Bands performing their spring concert.

Tomorrow, May 3, Dr Fowler will be at the Middle School to do physicals for any 6th 7th or 8th grade student who will be participating in any sport in the 2024-2025 school year. Each student will need their signed physical form and $10. Please be sure to bring these tomorrow.
