Seniors & Parents: Winfield City High School will host a FAFSA help event in the library on Wednesday, January 8th, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Parents will need to bring 2023 tax information. This application qualifies students for Pell Grant, loans, work-study programs, and other types of financial aid for college, and many scholarships require that the FAFSA be submitted. Winfield’s first year at the Trumbauer High School Festival. We brought 18 students, a studio one act play, a group acting piece, and fourteen Individual Events in monologue, musical solo, duet acting, playwriting, costume and makeup design. Nine of those 18 students got Superior ratings on their IEs and will compete again at State next month. Not to mention two members of the All Star Cast for their work in Lockdown (our one act), and two Best Supporting Actor trophies for Brody and Kai! Congratulations WCHS theater students.
*WCHS* October 23-31 will be Red Ribbon Week. This week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life.
Monday - Wear Red to kick off the week!
There will be a red ribbon hidden on each campus (clues will be announced that day) and whoever finds it will get pizza on Friday to share with 3 of your friends. Also, we will try to get a picture of everyone in red in the form of a ribbon.
Tuesday - Don't get tied up in drugs. Wear ties.
Wednesday - Lei off drugs. Wear Hawaiian shirts and leis.
Thursday - Link together against drugs. Each student will write their name on a red link to be joined together.
Friday - Team up against drugs. Wear favorite sports jerseys.
Join in everyone to take a stand against drugs.
We celebrated homecoming at WCHS by participating in many time-honored traditions this week. After careful planning, we decided to start a new tradition this year. This tradition involved a scavenger hunt in search of the “key to victory”. The students were given a clue to the key’s location each day. They were so smart in their thinking while looking for the key. We were pleasantly surprised to see them working in groups to help each other. Even the teachers joined in the fun. We had the best time participating in this event. The winners received a WCHS-themed prize basket for their efforts. Can’t wait until next year! Congratulations to Feebie Sayre and Emily Daniels for being this year's winners.
Winfield City High School’s lunch choices for today was Old Fashion Meat Loaf, or Chicken Tenders or P & J Grab ‘n’ Go. The meal included green beans, mashed potatoes, salad, baked pears, juice, roll, and milk.
Thank you Faith Church and all of the volunteers that pressure washed around the high school today.
