WCHS Theatre is heading to the State competition! WCHS Theatre students had a fantastic performance at the District 3 competition in Decatur, as part of the statewide Walter S. Trumbauer Theatre Festival.

The 14 students who took part in the competition competed in individual events and then set our one-act play against shows from four other schools. The kids strengthened friendships with each other and students from the other schools in attendance. There were great shows, LOTS of great performances, and a gleefully exhausting day!

We brought 15 IEs to the festival. 13 of them got Superior ratings, and 11 of those are advancing to State:

* Korbin Marcum - Acting Dramatic 1900-1975

* Grayson Webb - Solo Dramatic Classical

* Isaac Chambless and Draven Bowles - Duet Acting Comedic

* Emma Hollister - Original Works (she wrote her own monologue!)

* Kalee Upton - Musical Dramatic 1980-2015

* Wren Williamson - Musical Comedic 1980-2015

* Brody Lynn - Musical Comedic 1980-2015

* Laila Carter and Wren Williamson - Duet Musical Comedic

* Brody Lynn and Grayson Webb - Duet Musical Comedic

* Feebie Sayre - Costume Design

Also receiving Superior ratings:

* Kalee Upton - Acting Dramatic 2006-present

* Jace Claborn - Playwriting

* Our Group Acting piece, "Food for Thought"

And congratulations to June Rainey on receiving Excellent ratings at her first-ever performance competition, in Solo Musical and Duet Musical!

Brody Lynn arranged our Group Musical entry, which rated an Excellent.

For our one-act, "10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse,"

* Brody Lynn was named to the All-Star Cast for the festival and

* Wren Williamson was awarded "Best Supporting Performer" for the one-act festival!

We are all proud of our students' many successes at District Trumbauer. On to State!
