Greetings from Winfield City Schools,
Holding #75, that will be a 10 yard penalty and repeat 2nd down. This is often how an offensive lineman receives recognition in a football game. The young man receives the blunt of our disfavor because more often than not, it also occurred when another player made a great play or even (heaven forbid) a touchdown. So is the life of a public servant. We were blessed during a very cold stretch of weather to not lose our water or have to ration our water. Thank you public servants that allow my family to have clean drinking water and ample amounts to have good hygiene. On the other hand, holding #69……whenever we lose water pressure or don’t have adequate supplies. See where this is going?
I would like to express my appreciation (not all are public servants) to the many people who help make our schools and community a wonderful place to live. Thanks to our Police Department for providing a safe school district and community. Thanks to our EMTs and Fire Department for being quick to respond to our homes and buildings and our medical needs. Thanks to our Winfield City Employees that provide clean streets and rights of way and pick up our commercial and household garbage. Thanks for decorating our city on holiday occasions with lights and recognizing our patriotism. Thanks to those that when I flip a switch, I am no longer in darkness or hot or cold. Thank you for cell service and internet provisions. Please forgive me for two things: Any error of omission to anyone I have been remiss in not naming, and for being that guy that…..Holding #72 that does not recognize the other 99 times you got it right.
Reflective thought often gives us a time to appreciate the things and people that make our lives and our community wholesome and enriching. Perhaps you will see an opportunity to express your appreciation to someone who often does things that go unnoticed and extend some grace.
