May 2, 2025: This is a message from Winfield City Schools. Due to the threat of severe weather, buses are being held at school. Children are remaining inside the building until the threat of weather passes. Car riders are allowed to leave at normal time. Journeys will meet and we will follow our severe weather plan if needed.
Huge congrats to our 3a State Champions! Sean Wyers wins the state title in Discus, Alex Aldridge wins the state title in Pole Vault, and Dylan Benton places 3rd in the state in Pole Vault! Incredible performances by all —we are proud of you!

Mrs Patton, Mrs. Cook, and WCHS Students closed out Pirate Spotlight 97.7 Winfield Radio with Doug Threadgill for the school year with a focus on what the senior class has coming up and what they have been up to so far.

Career Tech Cosmetology Disney Fashion Show was a big hit with faculty and students. Mrs. Handley and her cosmetology students did a great job with costumes, hair, and makeup. Thank you to all faculty, parents, students and community members that supported and helped with this event.

School Lunch Hero Day in 2025 is on May 2nd, the first Friday of the month. This day is a time to celebrate and thank the school nutrition professionals who provide healthy meals to students. It's an opportunity for students, parents, and school staff to recognize the important role these professionals play in supporting student health and learning.

Isaac McNeill and Briar Kelley have qualified for the State Fishing Competition, representing Winfield City Schools. The state tournament will be held on May 10, 2025, in Decatur.

April 21-25 is National Student Leadership Week and Winfield City High School would like to recognize some of our student leaders. Today, we will spotlight FBLA , which is led by Mrs. Karla Stovall.
We are spotlighting our 11 members that went to Mobile this month to compete at State. 10 placed and will be competing in California in June. We appreciate all that they do to represent and support our amazing school.

Today was a great day for our 10th and 12th grade students as they got to head out into the community for job shadowing! It was an awesome opportunity for them to explore different careers and get a feel for the real world. Huge thanks to all the local businesses who hosted our students—your support means so much. Slade Webster is a sophomore member of the National Beta Club. This year, Slade completed 540 hours of community service, making him the highest earner in the club.
