Congratulations to our seniors for their accomplishments on the ACT WorkKeys and to the outstanding educators for pushing them towards excellence!
Recently the ACT WorkKeys was administered to the senior class at Winfield City High School. According to ACT.org, “ACT WorkKeys assessments are the cornerstone of ACT workforce solutions. The assessments measure foundational skills required for success in the workplace and help measure the workplace skills that can affect job performance.” Students are required to complete three component tests which are as follows: Applied Mathematics, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents. The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) recognizes students that score Silver standard or higher on all three component tests as career ready. The Winfield Senior class had 10 students earn the highest score Platinum, 21 students earn Gold, 30 students earn Silver, and 12 earn Bronze. Over 80% of the seniors taking the WorkKeys scored well enough to be considered career ready by ALSDE standards.
