Winfield City School Parents: We have additional food boxes to give away. If you would like your student to receive a food box you may sign up at www.paypams.com and click on OrderNow or you may email Sandy McCaleb at smccaleb@winfield.k12.al.us or call 1-205-487-0228. Deadline to order is Sunday night at 11:50 p.m. Food boxes will be picked up at your child’s school on Tuesday, December 15th from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. These boxes will be first come first serve until all the boxes are distributed.

Lisa Geist completes her masters in Differentiated Instruction.
Lisa Ballinger Geist is a Special Education Teacher at Winfield City Schools. She has taught for 14 years at WCS and is currently the resource teacher at Winfield City High School. She's been married to her husband, Mike for 25 years, but her claim to fame is singing on the 2004 Oscars with Alison Krauss and Elvis Costello.
Lisa received her Bachelors degree from U.N.A. in Elementary Education and Masters degree from Auburn University in Special Education. Now she adds Teacher for Visually Impaired to her accomplishments with a Master of Education in Differentiated Instruction, with an emphasis in Visual Impairments, from U.A.H. With this degree, she will focus on how to plan, instruct, conduct assessments and collaborate to maximize learning opportunities for students with visual impairments, blindness, and deafblindness. Lisa hopes to be able to fill a need in our area and to be an advocate for young people that are blind or have visual impairments.

Winfield Elementary School Students will receive a 5 breakfast and 5 lunch meal kit today before they leave school. All the foods are frozen. If your child is not in school on Monday, please contact cchannell@winfield.k12.al.us or call 1-205-487-2304 to arrange to pick up your child’s food box. If your child rides a bus, please meet the bus to help with the box.
Winfield High School Students will receive 5 breakfast and 5 lunch meal kit tomorrow, Tuesday, December 8th. All the foods are frozen. If you child is not in school on Tuesday, please contact tmcdonald@winfield.k12.al.us or call 1-205-487-3251 to arrange to pick up your child’s food box.
Winfield Middle School Students will receive 5 breakfast and 5 lunch meal kit on Wednesday, December 9th. All the foods are frozen. If you child is not in school on Wednesday, please contact cweeks@winfield.k12.al.us or call 1-205-487-8809 to arrange to pick up your child’s food box.
The food box can be used to supplement meals during the holidays while school is closed.
If your child has afterschool activities and does not received a food box, please contact your school lunchroom.
An additional meal will be given out at all three schools this week for the virtual day on Friday, December 11th.

Varsity Basketball update: Varsity Boys only will play Tharptown tonight at 6 pm. at Winfield High School. Go Pirates!

Miss Oliver is doing a great job teaching rhyming words with her kindergarten class.


Winfield City Schools will be handing out food boxes to Winfield City School Students. The boxes will contain 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches and they are FREE to all Winfield City School Students. Food Boxes will be given to each student at school on dates below. If your child rides a bus, please meet the bus on the day that your student will be bringing home the food box. The food boxes will contain all frozen foods. If your child is not at school on the following days or has afterschool activities please contact your lunchroom manager to schedule a pickup day and time.
