Good Evening Pirate Family,
I know most of you saw Governor Ivey’s press conference today requiring that masks be worn through the end of August. We have made preparations for your child to come back to school safely and with social distancing protocols in place where applicable. We will follow the governor’s mandates in all situations where social distancing is not possible.
We are in the process of building barriers to put on tables in the elementary school classrooms to allow students to pull down their masks while in class. This will make learning easier for the younger children. We will do everything possible to try and distance students in the classrooms to allow for normal learning, but there may be times when students do have to wear masks in classrooms. We realize that this situation will
not be optimal for learning, but we will follow State and ADPH guidelines.
I am excited about seeing all our students when we return to school. We have taken many new precautions to keep our students safe, and we will do our best to protect our students and staff. Stay tuned to our website and social media sites for any changing information. We will do our best to keep you informed, but sometimes things are changing so fast that it’s not possible to send out an update for every change. Please be patient with us as we do our best to prepare for the return of students during this pandemic. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school or the Central Office.
God Bless and Stay Safe,
Chris Cook, Superintendent
